BASELINE ASSESSMENT
YOUR FIRST STEP
Altitude Training can affect each person differently. At Peak, to ensure our members safety and best training adaptation, it is compulsory to complete a Baseline Assessment prior to starting any programs in the altitude training room.
The Assessment is conducted in the altitude room with a qualified altitude coach. The room will be set to simulate 14.0% Oxygen, 3400m altitude. Your altitude coach will record your bodies oxygen levels with a pulse oximeter. Throughout the assessment you will be required to walk at different gradients and speeds on a treadmill. This will cause your bodies heart rate to increase and oxygen levels to decrease. The assessment generally takes about 15 minutes.
The goal of the Baseline Assessment is to ensure safe levels of oxygen readings have been recorded, you can safely start training at altitude and you are more aware of the altitude room. After the assessment, we will discuss your results and offer our training recommendations to you.
